The Commercial Accelerator Scheme (CAS), which is ARI’s own proof-of-concept funding program, addresses a recognised gap in funding known as the “valley of death” between traditional research funding and the market. It has provided a bridge for many projects to successful licence or other funding options.
The 2015 Funding Round is now open, with a total of $400,000 available for University of Adelaide researchers.
Key points:
- The maximum amount to be funded into any one project is $100,000 spread over a maximum duration of 18 months
- The provision of matching funding or in-kind assistance from industry partners will be regarded favourably (but is not essential)
- An independent industry assessment panel scores the proposals, with final decisions made by ARI’s Board
The first step is to register your interest by contacting your Commercial Development Manager to discuss your project eligibility.
More information can be found in the application template and guidelines available on the ARI website. Applications are due COB Friday 18 September 2015.
